Class observations. Basketball video games. School bus responsibilities. Corridor high-fives with trainees. Conferences. Conferences. Conferences.

Those activities amount to numerous hours and encounters over a profession, with each encounter leaving a special imprint.

Education Week asked 4 principals who are retiring this year to share a memory of their life in education that will stick with them long after they have actually handed in their crucial cards and bid farewell to their instructors and trainees. What’s that thing, that trainee, that experience they will not forget?
